Recently there has been a lot of talk about VoIP phones and about the technology used to build them. Everything seems to be excellent and there are only good sides to using that kind of a phone, but actually there are two sides to this story and thus we will try to inform you a little about the pros and cons of using a VoIP phone.
First of all we will start with the good sides; VoIP phones offer a very fast opportunity to share information. In addition, VoIP phones are a lot more cost efficient than ordinary mobile phones and offer cheaper possibilities for communication as distances do not matter anymore and all calls become “local”.
Now to the bad sides, the VoIP phone’s performance is closely connected to the quality and speed of your internet connection. In addition, the signal of VoIP phones is not able to move through all barriers, for example some metals and concrete. Of course, also VoIP phones can suffer from bad voice reception quality as usual cell phones and the possibility of a call being dropped. VoIP phones are more exposed to risks that the internet offers, like hackers and wiretapping.
As the VoIP phone technology is still in further development than probably everything possible will be done to eliminate the cons so you could continue to enjoy only the pros of VoIP phones. |
